In January 2019, New York State began modernizing the election law, expanding voter access by enacting a flexible in-person “Early Voting” period. All primary, run-off primary, special, and general elections now allow New Yorkers to have more convenient opportunities to participate in elections.
Any registered voter is eligible to vote early in-person during the early voting period.
Early Voting in New York is available at designated early voting sites from 10 days before the election through the 2nd day before the election.
Primary Election Day Early Voting Dates: June 18-26, 2022 (includes Saturday and Sunday)
General Election Early Voting Dates: October 29 – November 6, 2022 (includes Saturday and Sunday)
Your polling location for Early Voting may differ from the polling location you'd visit on Election Day. In most areas of New York State, you can go to any location within the county where you are registered to cast your vote. To find your Early Voting polling location visit Vote Early New York website.
The hours that polling locations are open during Early Voting vary from day to day. To confirm the open hours of the Early Voting polling locations visit the Vote Early New York website.
